My Third Book Review

It’s been ages ago since I posted a book review! 😁 Schooling is really busy and I always catch up doing some reading in my free time (in which most of the time, I don’t have!) or I always secretly read and sometimes skip a school work if I think it’s difficult to do! 😂

So here’s my THIRD BOOK REVIEW! I read this book because there’s this subject I have in school that requires us to read a novel and make a book report of it! It’s one of the requirements for Prelim and that means I really need to do it despite the busy school assignments! 🙀

My bookstagram post for this book 😁

Here’s the SYNOPSIS:

About the book

Theodore Finch is fascinated by death. Every day he thinks of ways he might die, but every day he also searches for—and manages to find—something to keep him here, and alive, and awake.

Violet Markey lives for the future, counting the days until graduation, when she can escape her small Indiana town and her aching grief in the wake of her sister’s death.

When Finch and Violet meet on the ledge of the bell tower at school—six stories above the ground—it’s unclear who saves whom. And when the unlikely pair teams up on a class project to discover the “natural wonders” of their state, they go, as Finch says, where the road takes them: the grand, the small, the bizarre, the beautiful, the ugly, the surprising—just like life.

Soon it’s only with Violet that Finch can be himself—a bold, funny, live-out-loud guy, who’s not such a freak after all. And it’s only with Finch that Violet forgets to count away the days and starts living them. But as Violet’s world grows, Finch’s begins to shrink.

This is a heart-wrenching, unflinching story of love shared, life lived, and two teens who find one another while standing on the edge.

My Rating!

3/5 Stars! ⭐️⭐️⭐️

I hate the fact that Finch has to die in the end! 😭😭😭 I thought he was already happy with Violet but I never knew he still pursud what’s on his mind which is to DIE! 😟😟😟 I love the story overall! I honestly got bored in the first few chapters because it’s soo slow-paced. I’ve always liked stories that’s fast so that my anticipation will be fulfilled! *evil laugh* I hate also, how their parents never cared about them! And lastly, at some point, I didn’t understood the point-of-views of either of Finch and Violet like maybe I just didn’t understand why they think that way! Or maybe I was thinking maybe there’s a better way to express it? (Yeah?) I love Finch for being sooo dreamy! He’s beautiful character and how he saved Violet from humiliation! 😁 I just hate his mental sickness, his perfect for me already! *Why oh why?* Violet has the attitude that’s so unexpected! I never knew she was a cheerleader before the accident that means she’s totally confident and how she shifted to that shy-type girl after her sister’s death. I just do hope Blue Hole doesn’t exist in this world because I might cry a sea thinking Finch died there! 😭😭😭 Thank you Miss Jennifer for giving us an eye-opener book! 💕

  1. I felt the same way after reading this novel. The same emotional journey of so many whys. I think there are so many questions which are left unanswered.
Suggestion- You should post spoiler alert cause no one saw finches death coming in case someone hasn’t read yet.
    Loved your review.
